About The Phoenix Company

The Phoenix Company

The Phoenix Company of Chicago specializes in custom low-temperature microwave cable assembly solutions with patented non-magnetic PkZ connection technology for cryogenic-based quantum computing applications. Founded in 1969, the company manufactures RF/microwave connector and cable assembly products serving quantum computing and cold temperature markets. The PkZ quick-connect system replaces existing RF connectors and cables with higher density connections from external microwave cables through hermetic headers into each level of dilution refrigerators or cryostats down to quantum processors. PkZ housings fit existing dilution refrigerators with up to 64 RF lines per port, simplifying mating of all 64 lines with one plug-in operation. The blindmate constant impedance PkZ contact features optional embedded attenuation for mass-interconnection, replacing thread-on SMA connectors and attenuators. Phoenix Company’s low-temperature PkZ contacts and cable assemblies serve quantum computing, ultra-low temperature physics, cryogenic MRI, and general low-temperature research.
