quantum.org.uk sets no cookies. The only thing it keeps in your browser is a short-lived copy of the latest news, deleted when you close the tab.

The site has a single dark colour scheme, so there is no theme setting to save.
Third parties
The map page loads tiles from OpenStreetMap. Pages with news fetch the latest articles directly from Quantum Zeitgeist's public news feed, with cookies switched off, and load article images from it. Neither server set any cookies on those requests when we checked on 11 October 2026. See the privacy notice for what those requests share.
The law
The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) do not require consent for storage that is strictly necessary to provide what you asked for. The news cache is the only storage, and it falls in that category, so there is no banner. If we ever add storage, it will be listed here first, and anything that is not strictly necessary will be off until you agree.
