INEX Microtechnology runs a compound semiconductor and MEMS fabrication plant in Newcastle upon Tyne, making gallium nitride, indium antimonide and silicon carbide devices for defence, communications and power electronics. Its quantum work centres on the vapour cells inside atomic sensors: it led Q-Cell (December 2021 to May 2023), a £392,000 feasibility study with NPL and the University of Birmingham to build silicon wafer cells with temperature and magnetic field control built in, for miniature atomic clocks, magnetometers and inertial sensors. It was also one of 13 partners in the Fraunhofer-led QT Assemble programme on compact quantum components.
INEX Microtechnology, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is a company. It appears as a partner in QuSIT and QT Assemble.
