Loughborough's main quantum contribution is to timing. Within the £21.9 million QEPNT navigation hub, Alessia Pasquazi's Emergent Photonics Research Centre is developing microcombs, chip-scale lasers that could act as the counting element in portable optical atomic clocks. On the communications side, the university was a partner in BT's Innovate UK-funded QAssure project on assuring QKD systems (April 2024 to March 2026). In July 2026 its researchers, working with Lancaster University, described a model-based framework for building digital twins of quantum networks using the SysML v2 engineering language.

Loughborough University is a university in Loughborough with two quantum projects in this directory. It is a partner in 2 UK projects: QEPNT and QAssure.
