    Start-up · Oxford

Mind Foundry, an Oxford machine learning firm now focused on defence and national security, has applied its Bayesian optimisation work to the slow job of tuning qubits. It was a partner in AutoQT, a £5.3m Riverlane-led consortium that ran from March 2022 to March 2025 to automate the calibration of hundreds of qubits, with a grant offer of about £698,000. Mind Foundry researchers co-authored a Nature Electronics paper, published in March 2026 with the University of Oxford and the University of Basel, reporting fully autonomous tuning of a germanium-silicon nanowire spin qubit from a grounded device to Rabi oscillations.

Mind Foundry is an Oxford start-up. It is a partner in 1 UK project: AutoQT.
