QuEra Computing UK is the British subsidiary of the Boston neutral-atom computer maker, and its main UK job is a testbed for the National Quantum Computing Centre. Won in the NQCC's £30m testbed competition and announced in February 2024, the machine holds neutral atoms in movable optical tweezers and is designed to shuttle groups of atoms between zones, for experiments on error-corrected logical qubits. In June 2025 the company took more than 3,500 sq ft in the Tech Foundry building at Harwell Campus, a space big enough to house a working quantum computer, as its base for UK and European growth.
QuEra Computing (UK) is a Harwell company. It leads 1 UK project (Towards an error-corrected neutral-atom quantum computer (QuEra)) and is a partner in 1 more.
