    Company · London

NHS operating theatres gave Applied Quantum Computing (AQC) its first problem: a pilot with a hospital trust found that booking surgeries in batches improved theatre use and shortened waits. The small firm writes quantum optimisation and quantum machine learning methods, mostly for healthcare and finance, and sells consulting alongside them. Registered in London in December 2020, it went through the NQCC and STFC's QuBIC incubator at Harwell. Through the NQCC's SparQ programme it led a project with UCL, King's College London and Evelina London Children's Hospital on hybrid quantum-classical models that predict risk events in intensive care.

Applied Quantum Computing, based in London, is a company whose work covers quantum optimisation, machine learning and software; it was founded in 2020. It leads 1 UK project (Quantum-Enhanced Clinical Decision Support for Intensive Care Medicine) and is a partner in 1 more.
