    Compound semiconductors anchor Cardiff University's quantum work. The university co-owns the Compound Semiconductor Centre with IQE, and was a partner in QFoundry, the centre's 2020 to 2024 consortium to set up an open-access foundry for quantum semiconductor components. Cardiff is also one of six universities in Q-BIOMED, the UCL-led national hub for quantum biomedical sensing, and was a partner in the earlier Quantum Computing and Simulation Hub.
