    Duality Quantum Photonics

    Company · Bristol

Duality Quantum Photonics designs photonic chips in thin-film lithium niobate, aimed at fast signal processing and at photonic quantum computing. With the NQCC the Bristol company ran a proof of concept testing whether lithium niobate circuits could route the laser light that controls calcium ions in trapped-ion quantum computers. A separate UKAEA Fusion Industry Programme contract, announced in December 2023 and called TRONN, puts optical neural networks on its chips to detect hotspots in fusion magnets. It is also a partner in the Integrated Quantum Networks hub, and its directors are Anthony Laing and Alberto Politi.

Founded in 2020, Duality Quantum Photonics is a company in Bristol focused on quantum photonics, hardware and components. It is a partner in 3 UK projects: IQN, Quantum Missions pilot and NISQ.OS.
