Kuano uses quantum-mechanical simulation of molecules, rather than quantum computers, to guide drug design. Its Quantum Lens platform analyses electronic structure to help design covalent drugs and inhibitors for hard-to-drug enzymes and shallow binding pockets. The company works from Mill SciTech Park at Hauxton near Cambridge, and in 2021 it completed the quantum stream of the Creative Destruction Lab in Toronto with simulation software for enzyme inhibitors in pharmaceuticals and herbicides.
