    Company · London

QMatter writes software that compresses large simulation problems into smaller ones that keep the structure needed for an accurate answer, so they can run on a laptop, a supercomputer or today's quantum processors. Chief executive Alexis Ralli and chief technology officer Tim Weaving did their research at UCL on the contextual subspace variational quantum eigensolver, a method that shrinks chemistry problems by splitting a Hamiltonian into contextual and noncontextual parts. Co-authors of that work, Peter Love, Peter Coveney and William Kirby, are among its scientific advisers.

Founded in 2026, Qmatter is a company in London focused on quantum software, algorithms and chemistry. No project in this directory lists it yet. Profiled here: Alexis Ralli (CEO).
