    Shielding equipment against stray magnetic fields has been the business of Magnetic Shields Limited in Staplehurst, Kent, since its incorporation in 1957. For quantum work it supplies MuRoom shielded rooms and enclosures, including the shielding used with Cerca's wearable OPM-MEG brain scanner. Innovate UK funded it to lead QT-Shield (March 2017 to May 2018), on compact shielding for portable quantum systems, and then a £3.75m ISCF consortium from July 2020 to May 2024 that applied quantum magnetometers to testing lithium battery cells, alongside the universities of Sussex and Strathclyde.

    Magnetic Shields is a Staplehurst company working on quantum components, sensing and magnetometers, founded in 1957. It appears as a partner in UK Quantum Technology Hub in Sensors and Timing and Gravity Pioneer.
