Quantum computing matters to NCC Group mainly as a threat to encryption. Its Cryptography Services team helped propose FALCON, the lattice-based signature scheme co-written by Thomas Pornin that NIST named a round 3 finalist in July 2020, and the Manchester firm's research report of February 2026 describes applied post-quantum work and help for clients preparing to migrate. On the hardware side, NCC Group Security Services joined ORCA Computing's Quantum Data Centre of the Future consortium (March 2022 to March 2025) with a £49,300 grant offer, alongside BT, KETS, PQShield and Riverlane.
