PA Consulting's quantum specialists build working designs and prototypes, much of it for the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory. With Durham University academics they produced a blueprint for a Rydberg-atom radio receiver about 1cm long, tunable over several tens of gigahertz, and later a hybrid classical-quantum planning tool, funded through the Defence and Security Accelerator, that ran communications-placement and resource problems on Amazon Braket. PA also supplies technical expertise to MoniRail's quantum train navigation consortium, which ran a mainline trial in March 2026. That same month the London consultancy became wholly owned by US engineering group Jacobs, in a deal worth about £1.2bn.
PA Consulting Quantum Technology is a company in London. It is now part of Jacobs. It appears as a partner in UK Quantum Technology Hub in Sensors and Timing.
