Full-stack superconducting testbed (Rigetti UK)
A superconducting quantum computing testbed built for the National Quantum Computing Centre under its 2024 testbed programme.
Role: Lead
Themes: Computing
Company · London
Rigetti UK is the London-registered arm of Rigetti Computing, and it runs the US firm's superconducting quantum computing work in Britain. It led the £10m consortium, announced in 2020 with Oxford Instruments, Phasecraft, the University of Edinburgh and Standard Chartered, that put a cloud-accessible machine in Abingdon. Through the NQCC testbed programme it now operates a 24-qubit Ankaa-class system at Harwell, and in April 2025 it won a £3.5m Quantum Missions pilot with Riverlane and the NQCC to test error correction and upgrade that machine to 36 qubits.
Rigetti UK is a company in London. In this directory it leads Full-stack superconducting testbed (Rigetti UK) and Quantum Computing Platform for NISQ Era Commercial Applications and is a partner in 5 more.
