    Company · Reading

Synopsys's UK quantum footprint is small and specific: its process-simulation (TCAD) software and a single Innovate UK consortium. Through Synopsys (Northern Europe) Limited it joined the sureCore-led cryo-CMOS project, funded by the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund from November 2021 to March 2025, using transistor measurements taken near absolute zero to refine its TCAD tools for chips that control qubits. The TCAD-to-SPICE flow involved came from Gold Standard Simulations, a University of Glasgow spin-out Synopsys bought in 2016.

Synopsys UK is a company in Reading. It appears as a partner in Development of cryo-CMOS to enable the next generation of scalable quantum computers.
