    Company · Birmingham

Delta g makes quantum gravity gradiometers. In its patented hourglass design, two stacked clouds of laser-cooled rubidium atoms let the sensor compare how strongly gravity pulls at each height, exposing voids, buried structures and old mine workings without emitting a signal that could be jammed. Spun out of the University of Birmingham in 2022 from work at the Sensors and Timing hub, it has developed the sensor under Department for Transport contracts. In September 2025 it closed a £4.6 million seed round led by Serendipity Capital, with NSSIF and existing investor SCVC joining, and in November 2025 it was among 14 winners of Innovate UK sensing missions contracts.

Founded in 2022, Delta g is a company in Birmingham focused on quantum sensing, hardware and navigation. It is a partner in 3 UK projects: QuSIT, Quantum Sensing Mission Primer and Quantum Catalyst Fund.
