    Lumino Technologies

    Start-up · London

Lumino Technologies builds hardware for sending quantum signals through open air and via satellites, from entangled photon sources to optical ground receivers. The London firm, incorporated in March 2024, led QNET-EPS, an Innovate UK project worth £1.1 million, with Alter, RedWave Labs, Vodafone and Heriot-Watt University that turned a benchtop entangled photon source into an industrial prototype within a year; it finished in June 2026. A month later Lumino started FALQON, a European Space Agency ARTES 4.0 contract for a compact quantum receiver that will be tested at Heriot-Watt's optical ground station against the OPS-SAT VOLT spacecraft.

Lumino Technologies, based in London, is a start-up whose work covers quantum communications, qkd and networking; it was founded in 2024. It appears as a partner in IQN and Quantum Missions pilot. Profiled here: Omar Iqbal (CEO and Interim CTO).
