    Company · Runcorn

Nanoco Technologies makes quantum dots, semiconductor nanocrystals whose colour depends on their size: cadmium-free CFQD dots for displays and HEATWAVE dots that absorb near-infrared light for cameras and image sensors. Spun out of the University of Manchester's School of Chemistry around 2001 and based in Runcorn, it now earns mostly from licensing and development agreements with Asian chemical companies, reporting £11.3m unaudited revenue for the year to July 2026. A proposal to leave the London Stock Exchange, made in May 2026 to save about £0.7m a year, was adjourned in June pending shareholder consultation.

Founded in 2001, Nanoco Technologies is a company in Runcorn focused on quantum photonics and components. It is not yet linked to a UK project in this directory.
