    Government · London

For UK organisations preparing for quantum computers that can break today's public-key encryption, the National Cyber Security Centre, part of GCHQ, sets the deadlines. Its migration timeline of March 2025 asks them to finish discovering vulnerable cryptography and draft a plan by 2028, deal with their highest-priority systems by 2031, then move everything to post-quantum cryptography by 2035. To supply the skills, it runs a pilot within its Assured Cyber Security Consultancy scheme that certifies PQC consultancies until March 2027. Its quantum networking white paper states it will not support quantum key distribution for government or military applications, preferring post-quantum algorithms.

National Cyber Security Centre is a government body based in London. It is a partner in 2 UK projects: IQN and QCS.
