    RedWave Labs

    Company · Didcot

RedWave Labs designs custom photonics electronics in Didcot, Oxfordshire, and its quantum line runs from single-photon detectors and QKD receivers to coil drivers and rubidium heaters. It led MARCONI, a £1.5m Innovate UK project (June 2024 to March 2026) that built two UK-made QKD receivers, one with avalanche photodiodes for short links and a 64-channel superconducting nanowire version for long-haul fibre, with Phlux, Chase Research Cryogenics, Bay Photonics, Fraunhofer UK and the universities of Glasgow and Cambridge. Since March 2025 it has also led SEQOND, a Quantum Missions pilot project with Covesion and Fraunhofer UK that upconverts telecom photons so silicon detectors can count them.

Founded in 2004, RedWave Labs is a company in Didcot focused on quantum components, qkd and single photon detection. In this directory it leads MARCONI and is a partner in 3 more.
