    Chase Research Cryogenics

    Company · Sheffield

Since Simon Chase started the business in 1993, Chase Research Cryogenics has made sub-Kelvin coolers in Sheffield, now from Cool Works on Savile Street: sealed sorption units that reach below 1 K, below 0.3 K using helium-3, and below 0.1 K with a continuous miniature dilution unit. It led IN-QUEST (2020 to 2021), an ISCF project with SeeQC UK to take commercial cryocoolers down to the millikelvin temperatures superconducting quantum computers need, and supplied the 1 K cooling for MARCONI's superconducting-nanowire QKD receiver; it is also a partner in the Integrated Quantum Networks hub.

Chase Research Cryogenics is a Sheffield company working on cryogenics, quantum components and quantum infrastructure, founded in 1993. It is a partner in 4 UK projects, including IQN, MARCONI and EPSRC Quantum Communications Hub.
