Silicon spin qubits made with the 300mm CMOS processes of ordinary chipmaking are Quantum Motion's route to a quantum computer. Co-founded by John Morton and Simon Benjamin out of UCL and Oxford, the London company installed a full-stack system at the National Quantum Computing Centre in September 2025; it fits in three 19-inch racks and takes programs written in Qiskit or Cirq. A $160m Series C followed in May 2026, with DCVC and Kembara as joint leads and the British Business Bank among the new backers, and the company is in Stage B of DARPA's Quantum Benchmarking Initiative.
Founded in 2017, Quantum Motion is a company in London focused on quantum processors. It leads 1 UK project (Silicon Cloverleaf testbed (Quantum Motion)) and is a partner in 3 more. People profiled here include James Palles-Dimmock (CEO), John Morton (Co-Director and PI) and Simon Benjamin (Founder and CSO).
