Bristol's quantum photonics base: QET Labs, three national hub partnerships and a £35m innovation centre hosting KETS, QLM and Phasecraft.
A University of Bristol innovation centre with facilities and support for quantum and deep tech start-ups.
Project data last updated 11 October 2026
The University of Bristol received £14.97m in 2017 for the centre. In October 2019 the West of England Combined Authority added £20m to extend it. The full facility is planned for the university's Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus.
The centre offers space and support to help researchers and start-ups become commercially viable. The university says the pilot stage has been successful. Members listed on its site include Phasecraft, KETS Quantum Security, QLM and Zero Point Motion.

Achieving complete quantum simulations once required resources beyond current capabilities; now, calculations previously intractable are possible using approximately ten thousand physical qubits. This new compilation framework estimates end-to-end runtimes, from 102 milliseconds on photonic or super
