A consortium of Capgemini UK, Airbus, King's College London and the NQCC that used quantum chemistry methods to predict corrosion of aluminium alloys.
Project data last updated 11 October 2026
The NQCC lists the consortium as Capgemini UK, Airbus, the NQCC and King's College London. The project developed molecular embedding methods to calculate the energies of the oxygen reduction reaction on aluminium alloy surfaces.
The aim was to feed more accurate reaction rates into engineering models used in aerospace and energy. It was one of 12 SparQ proof of concept projects announced in November 2024, which ran until the end of March 2025.
