    University · Glasgow

Strathclyde's quantum work in Glasgow spans atomic sensors, photonics and doctoral training. With STFC RAL Space, its physicists built the five quantum magnetometers installed across the UK in 2025, giving the British Geological Survey national coverage of magnetic storms. The university leads the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Applied Quantum Technologies with Glasgow and Heriot-Watt, and partners in the IQN, QuSIT and QEPNT hubs and in SPOQC, the quantum key distribution CubeSat launched in March 2026. A planned Quantum Centre for Nuclear Defence and Security pairs it with AWE.

University of Strathclyde is a university in Glasgow with 16 quantum projects in this directory. It leads 1 UK project (QCNDS) and is a partner in 15 more.
