Imperial's Centre for Cold Matter built Aphrodite, a transportable accelerometer that uses matter-wave interference to navigate ships without satellite signals, and the Royal Navy trialled it at sea on the XV Patrick Blackett. The college also leads AION, a UK atom interferometry collaboration hunting gravitational waves and dark matter; in June 2026 the team reported in Nature that comparing two strontium interferometers cancels shared noise. Imperial is a partner in the IQN, QuSIT and QEPNT research hubs, and its QuEST centre links quantum groups across departments.

Imperial College London is a university in London with nine quantum projects in this directory. It is a partner in 9 UK projects, including QCi3, IQN and QEPNT.
